About Priscilla Tso

Congratulations to Priscilla Tso! 2024 SEKA Environmental Scholarship recipient!

Priscilla came to Orange Coast College as a non-traditional learner balancing school, work, and family. While studying early childhood education, she pursued a growing interest in environmental science.

At OCC, Priscilla joined the American Cetacean Society of Orange County and volunteered at public libraries. She taught children about marine mammals and how they survive in the ocean. She also participated in the Harbor Seal Monitoring Program, observing how human activity affects seal behavior along the coastline.

Looking to the future, Priscilla plans to transfer to Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles this fall (2024) to major in Environmental Studies and join a Women in STEM research program. Her goal is to help children understand sustainability and their role in protecting the planet.

She sees education as a powerful way to shape the future. By integrating environmental lessons into her classroom, she hopes to spark lasting respect for nature in young students.

The SEKA Environmental Scholarship supports students ready to make a difference. This year’s recipient brings together teaching and advocacy in meaningful ways. Her work already makes an impact, and we are proud to support her next steps.
